A experiência é composta por duas partes, em que na primeira é feita uma visita guiada à nossa exploração de cabras de leite, onde os hóspedes irão interagir e conhecer todos os animais adultos e suas crias. Também será explicado todo o maneio e cuidados que temos na Quinta. No fim desta visita irá haver uma pequena surpresa aos visitantes preparada por nós e pelos nossos animais. Na segunda parte da experiência irá ser oferecido um delicioso pequeno almoço típico composto por diversos tipos de pães, doces caseiros e queijos, entre outras iguarias tradicionais da nossa terra. We'll meet at the Black Sand Box office or at the beach, best for the day. At the surfschool van we grab our gear and head out to a secluded area with plenty of great beginner waves. The lesson starts on the sand, where I’ll teach you surf techniques and the important things you need to know to be safe and successful at surfing. I’ll also cover local surf culture and etiquette so that you stay on the right side of your fellow surfers. When ready, we’ll paddle out and spend the rest of our time in the ocean, enjoying the Azorean waves! Before every lesson I look at the surf forecast and make sure it is safe for first timers. Have in mind that the MEETING POINT/LOCATION and START TIME for this experience might vary depending on the surf conditions and the low tide of the day. Other things to note Black Sand Box (Surf) is licensed by the Government of the Azores as a tourist maritime operator (OMT-16/2018). We have insurances of civil liability and personal accident!

We will meet in Mercado da Graça in Ponta Delgada, where we going to know the different products that grows on the island, as well as our fish, sausages, cheeses and ways to consume and cook. After going to the market, these products will be used in the cooking class.At first, I will explain my options to the entrances, where is also include locals wines and cheese. Next we will start the cooking class, where I explain the most important ingredients of the Azorean cuisine, then we start an authentic cooking class with demonstration and hands-on experience. After, we will enjoy what we have cooked. During the cooking process, I will show you the farm where I live, where you can see the typical fruits and plants from Azores and depending on the season of the year, we can pick fresh ingredients, to our cooking class. In this cruise, you will sail till the best point to see the sunset, depending on the weather/sea/wind conditions it´s possible to swim in the ocean just before the sunset, from June to August. With our professional crew, you can also learn a little bit about the sailing process. It will be offered some snacks with regional products and white wine or other drinks ( not im 2021). In the way back you will see the city by night ( if possible)! Tips are welcome to the crew!

Join us for an authentically unique experience, touring Agua De Alto via a 1.5 mile hike, side by side our happy, rescued donkeys. At Donkeys and Friends, we believe, and have seen firsthand how responsible tourism helps visitors engage more deeply with the Azores, and we strive to share our community through the eyes of locals, in the most traditional of fashions. Our mission is to help and protect donkeys in need of rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming. Donkeys walk at the same speed as humans, about four miles per hour. Moving is vital to their ongoing health. In the wild, these animals can be found traveling 10 to 20 kilometers a day as they wander around grazing. And that’s where we need your help! These daily hiking adventures keep our big-eared friends healthy, while unleashing their natural curiosity and wonder. On this excursion, you will have the opportunity to stroll alongside Gabriela, Joaquin de Horta, Esperanca, Edward, and the always-entertaining Shetland pony, Kiwi! We will explore Agua de Alto, where they say it’s always sunny, at a donkey’s pace, reviling in the laid back pace that marks these relaxed islands. We’ll let you in on the secret paths to the best beaches on the south side of the island, make a pit stop for coffee and a chance to brush up on your Portuguese. Este é um passeio por uma propriedade privada com história e infra-estruturas de pedra vulcânica que remontam ao século XIX. Aqui estabelecemos uma quinta em modo de produção biológica, para nosso sustento e comercialização de produtos. No início do passeio será fornecida uma cesta para que ao longo do percurso possam colher frutas e legumes da época. O passeio consiste numa caminhada de mais ou menos 1 Km pelos pomares, pastagens, mata e jardins da quinta onde podem conhecer e alimentar alguns exemplares da raça bovina dos Açores, ovelhas, gansos patos e galinhas, criados livremente. Durante o passeio será descrita alguma da história secular da quinta, os métodos de pastoreio e produção biológica e as diferentes culturas desenvolvidas, tal como toda variedade de fauna e flora presente.

Quando regressarmos à vinha privada onde vivem os burros, iremos serpentear pelas impressionantes paredes de pedra e aprenderemos os métodos tradicionais de cultivo do “Vinho de Cheiro”. Deixando o melhor para o final, terminaremos com uma sessão de tosa e fotos com os burros. A principal atração desta trilha é a cascata do salto do cabrito, cerca de 30 metros de altura e com suas águas cristalinas, e, claro, tu podes te banhar nela, mas se não gostar de água cristalina e fria, também temos as fontes termais das caldeiras, que podem proporcionar uma recuperação poderosa e relaxante para o seu corpo com águas termais. Ao longo do caminho, na maioria estrada de terra, veremos uma barragem, riachos e até mesmo caldeiras, todos cercados por natureza maravilhosa. Toda essa trilha será feita a pé! Nesta trilha vamos incluir atividades de relaxamento e interligação com a natureza, para tornar o cliente livre do estresse constante da vida! A dificuldade da rota é média e dura cerca de 3 horas. Começamos com um pequeno briefing sobre as medidas de segurança, explicação sobre o que vamos realizar e seguimos para a descoberta das colmeias. Na abertura da colmeia vais descobrir as diferentes castas, como se organiza a colmeia, quais as funções que desempenham ao longo da sua vida e quem sabe... encontrar a rainha! No final as abelhas presenteiam-te com uma prova de mel acabadinhos de sair da colmeias e colhidos por ti.

Obtendo-se assim uma experiência única de aprendizagem e partilha através do processo decorativo da cerâmica, com enquadramento teórico sobre azulejaria tradicional. Este encontro culminará com um objecto “souvenir”, que pode ser alusivo às ilhas, criado pelo próprio no local de viagem! Dado o processo da cerâmica requerer cozedura à volta dos 1000ºC, o trabalho será entregue ao seu criador 2 dias após a execução. Também existe a possibilidade de envio por correio para qualquer parte do mundo, com acréscimo do valor dos portes.

For those that prefer a hands-on encounter, enjoy lots of laughs at the Agua De Alto Donkey Association. Helping with the daily chores will give members of your group a meaningful experience. Helping with the day-to-day tasks required for looking after the welfare of our animals. These may include feeds, bath time, medication, mucking out, grooming, cleaning hooves, clearing field shelters and paddocks, sweeping yards, leading and herding animals out of pens and paddocks and assisting with outreach therapy visits. The mission of the donkey association is to help donkeys in need of rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing. We focus on providing education and protection from animal cruelty, abuse, and neglect as well as a developing a future sanctuary for donkeys that need a forever home. We believe that authentic and responsible tourism helps our guest engage more deeply with the Azores, and the locals love meeting new people. Our goal is to share our donkeys and community in an friendly way with visitors from all over the world.
